Facebook Data Deletion

Last updated: 9 June 2026

This page explains how to remove Facebook Page data from the Victorian Country AFL Masters website. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes what Facebook data we hold and how we use it.

1. What Facebook data we hold

When a club or the league connects a Facebook Page to this website, we store:

  • A Facebook Page access token in Microsoft Azure Key Vault, which allows the website to read posts from and (where authorised) publish posts to that Page;
  • The Facebook Page ID and connection status, so the website knows which Page belongs to which club;
  • A short-lived cache of recent public posts from the Page, used to render the news feed on the corresponding website.

We do not hold information about individual Facebook users who interact with the Page.

2. Disconnecting Facebook from the admin area

The fastest way to remove Facebook data is to disconnect the Page from the website. Club administrators can do this themselves:

  1. Sign in to your club's admin area at /clubs/<your-club>/admin/facebook.
  2. Click Disconnect Facebook Page and confirm.

League administrators can disconnect the league Page from /admin/league/facebook in the same way.

When you disconnect a Page, we automatically:

  • Delete the Facebook Page access token from Azure Key Vault;
  • Clear the Page ID and connection status for that club or league;
  • Stop displaying that Page's posts on the website;
  • Invalidate any cached posts from that Page.

3. Requesting deletion by email

If you cannot use the admin area, or you would like us to confirm in writing that data has been removed, you can request deletion by emailing privacy@viccountrymasters.com.

Please include the following information so we can verify your request:

  • Your full name;
  • The Facebook Page name connected to the website;
  • The Facebook Page ID, if you know it;
  • A description of the request (for example, “please disconnect and delete all data for this Page”).

We may need to confirm that you are an authorised administrator of the Page or the relevant club before we action the request.

4. Timeframe

Once we have verified your request, the connected Facebook Page's access token, Page ID, and any cached post data will be removed from our systems within a reasonable timeframe. Cached posts that are not immediately purged will expire automatically within a short period.

5. Reconnecting in future

Disconnecting a Page does not delete anything on Facebook itself. If you later want to display the Page's posts again, an administrator can reconnect the Page from the same admin area at any time.
